Counselling to Change
Feeling stuck or overwhelmed? At a crossroads in your career or emotional life?
At 'Counselling to Change' , my aim is to provide an open and safe space to help understand the issues like anxiety, depression, compulsions, grief, abuse, trauma or others, work through them and move towards change. A change that could have varied forms like feeling calm and ok; a simple acceptance with no external changes,
or a lifestyle change.
Hello, I am Leny, an experienced therapeutic Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
I am an integrative counsellor which means I work with different counselling modalities to suit the needs of my clients. We are all unique and the same size does not fit all. Hence I feel that it is important that in counselling as well, the modalities and techniques used should be specific to each person. My work with organisations specialising in anxiety, depression, sexual abuse and trauma recovery has given me extensive experience working with a wide range of clients and a wide range of difficulties that affect people personally.
I offer a blended counselling service which could be pure face to face, pure telephone/ online or a mix of online and face to face. I have undertaken an additional 80 hour training programme in Online and Telephone Counselling in order to offer this service effectively.
My aim is to offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space for clients to talk about the aspects of their life that are challenging. Together we explore the patterns of behaviour or choices that create these challenges. We will look at your priorities in a safe and therapeutic way.
I offer flexible timings including weekends.
Focus is on your Wellbeing
My service offers a free consultation session, by phone, video or in person which gives the opportunity to take that first important step together and get a feel for how working together will be like.

What to expect
When you first make contact we will arrange an appointment for an initial free session. The first session allows us to get a feel for how working together will be like and gives you some time to tell me what is pressing on your mind.
At the end of the first session you may decide that you want to continue with further sessions on a regular basis.
These sessions may be at the same time and day each week depending on what is suitable for you.
Counselling and psychotherapy is a collaborative process where through a series of regular sessions we work together to explore and understand your difficulties, bringing the unconscious into the conscious.
My role is to help you understand how you relate to others by facilitating self-exploration and helping you to recognise unhelpful patterns in your life.
We will have regular reviews of the work to ensure we stay on track and that the sessions are meeting your needs.
